Hi! Let me introduce myself a bit, my name is Ricardo and I'm a professional Game Developer with 9+ years of experience, and i also released one of my games on steam, and i'm still developing it...
So... I've played your game, and while i think it has potential to be good. It definitely has a lot of very important issues that you need to address before you publish it fully on steam (i think you said it's already available there, but the only thing i can do is Wishlist it)
So first of all, the controls are actually kinda horrendous, using the Arrow Keys, while you use the mouse it's honestly horrible, almost no game nowadays controls like this and there's a reason for that, when having your hands that close to each other, one on the keys and one on the mouse, it can cause some pain on your shoulders on the long run, and it's just not comfortable. Instead i recommend you to just use the traditional control scheme of WASD for moving, and Mouse to aim and shoot, that way it's much more comfortable for the player.
Another thing is the "Game Feel" which i don't know if you know that game design concept... But it's basically how the game FEELS to play, right now your game feels pretty lifeless, when you shoot, there's no sound, in fact there's barely any sound at all outside of the music, which makes the game feel very non-rewarding at all, making it really boring. Games are based on reward, if you don't give that reward or satisfaction, the game is just gonna be extremely boring to play, no matter what. I recommend you watch this video of GameMaker's Toolkit about game feel and juice, it really was very informative for me at the time:
There's also minor issues, like not having a Game Over screen at all, just teleporting, and not having feedback when getting hurt, which made me sometimes wonder why i died, because i just didn't see how many lives i had before, because according to me, i didn't take any damage.
Outside of all of that, the game is not that bad actually, the game feels fair, it never feels like i died because of luck. It always feels like i died because of my fault, which is GOOD. So honestly, i think if you fix those issues, you're game it's gonna probably be much much better, obviously it still lacks some things. But it'll definitely be much more enjoyable.
And also, don't take this review very personal, i understand you are a beginner at this, and I'm really happy to have more people interested in game development, as much as i was when i started, I'm just saying this because i want you to get better at this, and make great games!
I recommend you to watch the videos of GameMaker's Toolkit (the creator of the video i attached), because it has some amazing game design videos that are REALLY useful for beginners, it's probably one of the best in that area.
but don t worry, i m aware for missing game over screen. you have feedback when player take damage, you blink a bit but it probably not visible enough. and for sound currently i use existing music but i train myself to make original ost and i will do sound design later
